A local event celebrating wildlife and the green-fingered creativity of Walthamstow.
Returning for a memorable weekend, 13-14 June 2026.
If you’re proud of it, we want to see it.
E17 Open Gardens is a community-led event where local people open their garden gates and invite others in.
Opening your garden is a way to come together as a community. Whether it’s an improvised or evolving space that welcomes birds, insects and pollinators, a community or school garden, or the home garden of a practising designer, taking part is a chance to share what you’ve learned and inspire others.
E17 Open Gardens highlights the quiet work happening across Walthamstow to support wildlife and make our neighbourhood greener.
Returning after a successful first year, this edition is extra special. E17 Open Gardens coincides with the final weekend of the Walthamstow Art Trail, bringing even more buzz, visitors and creative energy to the neighbourhood.
Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and gardens full of conversation and discovery. With events, workshops and ‘meet the gardener’ opportunities returning, it’s as much about the experience as it is about plants.
We’re looking for a wide mix of gardens: improvised or evolving spaces, big or small, finished or in progress - if you’re proud of it, we’d love to include it.
The event is organised by Fourfold Design, with support from V17 Walthamstow Village Residents Association, Village in Bloom and local volunteers.
